Bringing your game to life is truly in the little details—the detail we’re focusing on today is Sims 4 map replacements!
Map replacements are a must-have for me. They just make the game feel so much more beautiful and alive.
After playing the sims 4 for so many years, the standard maps start to get tiring to look at. And just like curating your loading screen and CAS backgrounds to fit the vibe of your gameplay, maps are a great way to customize your experience.
There aren’t a ton of fan art map creators, but the ones we have in the community are so incredibly talented. I’m sure you’ll find a style you love!
Note: you can only use one sims 4 map replacement per world!
If you ever want to swap which ones you use, make sure to delete your old ones first.
You can also pick and choose what worlds and styles you like, as each map replacement is an individual package file!

Detailed In-Game Sims 4 Map Replacements by 20th Century Plumbob
The sims 4 map replacements by 20th Century Plumbob are ICONIC.
Currently, these are the map replacements I’m using in my own game. My favorite part about them is the fact that the creator has kept updating them with each new world release. They’ve even already created Chestnut Ridge!
As someone who owns nearly all the sims 4 packs, and who likes consistency, I really enjoy having matching maps. And these ones are stunning! I’ll drop a few images for you guys to get the vibe.
The San Sequoia sims 4 map replacement comes with two options—one with a red bridge (similar to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco!).
This map replacement pairs perfectly with the bridge replacement mod I linked in my Growing Together mods round-up! In your world, when you see the bridge in the background, this mod makes it show up red. Now you can have a matching world map!

Willow Creek is one of the most tired worlds since it’s one of the base game worlds. We’ve all played in it a hundred times or more!
But this sims 4 map replacement breathes new life into it! I mean, look at how gorgeous it is. 😻
20th Century Plumbob creates these maps by taking actual in-game photos, so they’re accurate to the scenery of the world (unlike the in-game maps, which sometimes look completely different than what you see around the world).
Even Newcrest looks amazing!
Like I mentioned before, you download each sims 4 map replacement individually. I have linked 20th Century Plumbob’s Patreon below for you to download to your heart’s content! It is already sorted to show you all the map replacements available (and there’s a lot—some maps even have different options like night vs day).
Artistic Fan Art Sims 4 Map Replacements by DerShayan
The fan art sims 4 map replacements by DerShayan are genuinely works of art!
These maps take a much more artistic, stylistic approach, whereas 20th Century Plumbob used in-game screenshots. They look like they were painted, and I am obsessed. 😻
Mt. Komorebi just looks so dreamy in this art style!
And Sulani?! Oh my gosh, I didn’t think this world could get any more beautiful!
The texture of the paint-like strokes is just stunning.
The only downside to these sims 4 map replacements is that, as of right now, the creator hasn’t made any worlds past Mt. Komorebit—no Tartosa, no Copperdale, no Chestnut Ridge.
And it’s hard to say if they’ve completely retired from map creation! So we might never get a full, matching set.

Seasonal Willow Creek Sims 4 Map Replacements
From the same creator of the painted-style map replacements, I wanted to include these 3 Willow Creek variants!
They are seasonal/weather based, and too beautiful not to show y’all!
Willow Creek in the summer is just… 😻 So warm and gorgeous.
Like, why does this look like a renaissance painting?! Just obsessed.
Who else loves a good cozy rainstorm?!
Now your Willow Creek can forever look rainy with this sims 4 map replacement! I love the moody vibes of this one.
And last but not least, a snowy winter wonderful in Willow Creek!
Historical Medieval Sims 4 Map Replacements
You guys know I can’t resist some good historical or medieval cc!
This creator has made historical inspired sims 4 map replacements for just about every world!
Most of them are themed after the middle ages/medieval times. These maps give me major fantasy RPG vibes and I think it’s just so fun.
Obviously, these are just map replacements, so the worlds themselves, while you’re playing, will still look the same. But again—immersion! Having an on-theme map really adds to historical gameplay.
Medieval Copperdale is just… amazing! I love the detail of historic ships in the lake.
And of course, our old faithful—Willow Creek! Genuinely, at first I didn’t even recognize it. It looks so different!
Henford-on-Bagely is one of the best worlds for historical gameplay, and this sims 4 map replacement makes it even better!
